Ollerbrook Barn

Bed and Breakfast Accommodation in the farming hamlet of Ollerbrook

Ollerbrook Barn dates from 1798 and has been lovingly converted into a comfortable family home.

It is situated in the farming hamlet of Ollerbrook Booth, one of the ancient Booths (settlements) forming part of the Parish of Edale and an ideal location for a holiday, a short break or a base for a business trip to the Manchester or Sheffield areas.

Edale is set spectacularly amidst the wildest scenery of the Derbyshire Peak District and is the starting point of Britain's first and most famous long distance path, the Pennine Way to Scotland. There are also numerous shorter walks and climbs to suit everyone from the beginner to the amateur mountaineer.

The village has two appealing pubs, a welcoming church, an information and mountain rescue centre. Lady Booth stables offer riding lessons and pony trekking on the surrounding moors and Mam Tor is ideal for hang-gliding.

Despite its remote appeal, Edale can be easily reached from the motorways or by train on the Hope Valley line between Manchester and Sheffield and guests can be met at the station by arrangement.

The Vale of Edale is very spectacular, however there are many other attractions nearby. Just over the hill lies the attractive village of Castleton with its popular Blue John show caves, gift and tea shops and Norman Castle. Cycles can be hired at Ladybower reservoir and fishing is available on several rivers. The stately homes of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are in easy reach as well as the elegant spa town of Buxton, the market town of Bakewell and the attractions of the Derbyshire Dales.

At Ollerbrook Barn we welcome children of all ages. Cots and child-minding facilities can be provided by prior arrangement. We cater for vegetarians and can provide packed lunches and friendly advice to make your day trips complete.

The Ollerbrook Suite offers a comfortable sitting room/double bedroom with colour TV and drink-making facilities, together with a dressing room and a fully equipped bathroom. A double futon can be converted into an additional bed if required. Nab View also features a double bed , colour TV and drink-making facilities and offers a breathtaking view towards Grindsbrook and Kinder Scout. Two single futons can accommodate additional guests and a spacious bathroom is adjacent.

Please feel free to telephone Theresa or Mark Skillen on Hope Valley (01433) 670200 to discuss your arrangements.
