| A warm welcome awaits you at Western House, which is a traditional 1850s gritstone house standing at the start of the Pennine Way in Edale, the heart of the Peak District National Park. Luxury accommodation with unbeatable views across Edale and towards Kinder Scout, comprising two double rooms. One room is a Loft Conversion with exposed beams and truss. Self-contained with private lounge and en-suite with roll-top bath and shower over; original Victorian brass bed. The second room - the Blue Room - has a Victorian cast iron feature fireplace with gold leaf decoration, antique furniture and stripped pitch pine sash window with gorgeous views out onto the Nab and over the stone roofs of the village. Private but separate Victorian style shower room, basin and toilet. Stripped pine floors and views out onto the Pennine Way and fields full of sheep. There is Access to a private garden, Aga cooked breakfasts, and ample private parking on our drive. We are a no-smoking establishment. Sorry but we do not accept either children or dogs (except guide dogs and babies). From Edale, we have easy access to Kinder Scout, Mam Tor, Castleton and Eyam and many other activities and interests in the area. We are close to Ladybower and the Derwent Dams and Stanage Edge where Pride and Prejudice was filmed. Buxton with its Opera House is 20 mins away by car. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are 30 minutes away by car. This is a good walking area with many footpaths radiating out from Edale and from other local towns and villages. Both Edale and the nearby Derwent Valley offer excellent opportunities for mountain biking, and for those who prefer more extreme sports, there is a range of these available locally, including rock-climbing, pot-holing and hang-gliding and para-gliding.
